      MotherWoman Facilitator Training: What You'll Learn

      In MotherWoman Facilitator Training you will learn how to create and facilitate MotherWoman’s powerful women’s group model, in which women:

      • Explore personal issues in an environment of safety, respect, support and empowerment.
      • Discover inherent strength, emotional intelligence, and resilience.
      • Increase confidence and competence as mothers and women.
      • Learn effective ways to communicate needs and ensure self-care.
      • Explore the deep challenges experienced by all mothers, but which are often difficult to share.
      • Understand the personal impact of the marginalization of mothering in the U.S.
      • Find community among mothers - the “village” that has been missing.
      • Develop insight, support and confidence to make decisions that move themselves and their families forward.


      Professionally, In MotherWoman Facilitator Training you will learn to:

      • Create a safe group for women to share their real experiences of motherhood.
      • Understand group process, so as to sensitively address the unique needs of individuals, and the group as a whole.
      • Encourage inherent strength, emotional intelligence and positive self-esteem in each woman.
      • Create community among diverse women.
      • Identify the cultural and family of origin messages that impact mothers and families.
      • Identify the social and political context of motherhood and its relationship to maternal depression and disempowerment.
      • The skills necessary to create your own group, including marketing, publicity, and identifying resources.


      Personally, In MotherWoman Facilitator Training you will:

      • Develop confidence in yourself, as a leader of women, which will benefit your work, your family, your parenting and yourself.
      • Create a MotherWoman group that reflects the needs of women you hope to serve.
