In MotherWoman Facilitator Training you will learn how to create and facilitate MotherWoman’s powerful women’s group model, in which women:
- Explore personal issues in an environment of safety, respect, support and empowerment.
- Discover inherent strength, emotional intelligence, and resilience.
- Increase confidence and competence as mothers and women.
- Learn effective ways to communicate needs and ensure self-care.
- Explore the deep challenges experienced by all mothers, but which are often difficult to share.
- Understand the personal impact of the marginalization of mothering in the U.S.
- Find community among mothers - the “village” that has been missing.
- Develop insight, support and confidence to make decisions that move themselves and their families forward.
Professionally, In MotherWoman Facilitator Training you will learn to:
- Create a safe group for women to share their real experiences of motherhood.
- Understand group process, so as to sensitively address the unique needs of individuals, and the group as a whole.
- Encourage inherent strength, emotional intelligence and positive self-esteem in each woman.
- Create community among diverse women.
- Identify the cultural and family of origin messages that impact mothers and families.
- Identify the social and political context of motherhood and its relationship to maternal depression and disempowerment.
- The skills necessary to create your own group, including marketing, publicity, and identifying resources.
