MotherWoman Awarded $7000 from the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts and Dean's Beans Organic Coffee

AMHERST- MotherWoman, Inc. has been awarded a $3500.00 Capacity Building Grant from the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts to support the Executive Director in writing and leading the implementation of a 3 year development plan for the organization. Dean's Bean's Organic Coffee has agreed to match this grant award 100%, making the grant worth $7000.

A development plan is the portion of an organization's strategic plan which focuses on building a sustainable base of financial support. The development plan will be one major piece of a comprehensive 3 year strategic plan being created by MotherWoman to lead the organization into the future.

"We are energized and inspired to have received such prestigious and generous awards," stated Executive Director Melanie DeSilva. "With solid strategic planning, we will build a mother's organization that is as strong as mothers themselves."

"These awards show that our hard work and our hours and hours of volunteer time are paying off and that our community is beginning to recognize how invaluable our work is to mothers, families and children in the Pioneer Valley and beyond," stated Co-founder and Program Director Annette Cycon.

MotherWoman, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides programs to support and empower mothers to create personal and social change for themselves, their families, their communities and the world.
