POSTPARTUM INFORMATION AND SUPPORT NIGHT for Mothers, their Partners and their Family Members coping with baby blues, postpartum stress, depression, anxiety.
Amherst, MA Feb 13, 2007 - MotherWoman, Inc.is hosting a POSTPARTUM INFORMATION AND SUPPORT NIGHT FOR MOTHERS, PARTNERS AND FAMILIES on Monday March 5 from 6-8pm in the upstairs resource room at Community Action, 56 Vernon St, Northampton. This event is free and open to the public. Free childcare will be provided.

The goal is to help families learn about postpartum emotional adjustment- baby blues, postpartum stress, depression & anxiety- and how to get through this time together.

This event is made possible through generous support from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, through the Lochridge-Watkins Charitable Foundation administered by the Bank of America and Credit Data Services, Inc.

POSTPARTUM INFORMATION AND SUPPORT NIGHT FOR MOTHERS, PARTNERS AND FAMILIES is one component of a comprehensive Postpartum Depression Prevention and Support Program being developed by MotherWoman to serve mothers in the tri-county area. Other components include: the only postpartum stress support group for mothers in the entire tri-county area, the region?s Postpartum Stress Task Force, educational training for professionals in the area of postpartum emotional difficulties; resource and referral materials, and a mother-to-mother mentoring program- under development.

Program Collaborators include: Baystate Medical Center, Parent Education Dept., The Birthplace at Franklin Medical Center, The Birthing Center at Holyoke Medical Center, The Childbirth Center, Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Child Care Outlook, Northampton Parents Center, Cummington Family Center, Easthampton Family Center, Gateway Parents Center, Green River Doula Network, Hampshire County Family Network (HCFN), Parent Child Development Center (PCDC), and ServiceNet, and WIC of Hampshire, Franklin and N. Quabbin.

Business sponsors include: Dean?s Bean?s Organic Coffee, Motion Chiropractic Center of Easthampton, and Collaborative Divorce Attorney Julia Rueschmeyer, Esq.

Food and drinks, paper supplies and baby supplies are being generously donated by: Big Y, Cup and Top Café in Florence, Cushman Market and Café, Traditional Medicinal Teas, and Whole Foods Market.
