MotherWoman in the News,
Press Releases, and Upcoming Events February 2007
An anonymous angel donor has given a generoud financial contribution is support of a bigger office for MotherWoman. Located in the same building MotherWoman currently occupies, the new space is twice as large, and is perfect for meetings, onsite MotherWoman groups, and drop-in visits. "I am moved to tears by the generosity of the community member who is helping us grow," stated Melanie DeSilva, Executive Director of MotherWoman. "For those who are unaware, MotherWoman has been operating first out of a garage, and now for the past two years out of a 10 foot by 10 foot art atudio space. It has been cramped, but we have gotten the job done." "This new space is big enough that we can hold more onsite community events, and can serve as a pit stop for mothers who are out and about in town and need a place to change or feed their babies, or just rest their feet," states Annette Cycon, Co-founder and Program Director. "MotherWoman is at a cross roads as an organization," stated DeSilva. "It's a hard mtime to be trying to get a small non-profit off the ground. We are hoping that we can use this bigger office as a tool to raise community awareness about our programs, and raise the funds we need to survive and thrive." |
