MotherWoman staff attends State Summit on Maternal and Infant Mental Health
MotherWoman staff Annette Cycon and Melanie DeSilva attended the State of
Massachusetts Summit on Maternal and Infant Mental Health on Wednesday,
May, 30, 2007. DeSilva facilitated the Western Massachusetts working
group on creating a strategic plan to support emotional adjustment for
mothers in Western Massachusetts. At the working group, important
connections were made with Early Intervention staff in Springfield, MA and
DTA staff in Springfield. Representatives from both agencies will be
joining the Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Coalition of Franklin,
Hampshire, and Hampden Counties founded by MotherWoman. A connection was
also made with the Maternal and Infant Mental Health Task Force from Cape
Cod which is doing similar work to the tri-county coalition.
