Grandparent's Group receives UMASS funding to continue through June, 2010
Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:29PM We are so excited that the Grandparent's Support Group run by MotherWoman trained facilitator AnnMarie Meltzer has received funding to continue through at least June, 2010. Offered Tuesdays in 9:30-11:15am at the Amherst Family Center, this free weekly group creates a safe place where grandparents of diverse backgrounds and parenting styles can come together to create community, break isolation, talk about their experiences as parents and grandparents, and explore issues relevant to parenting grandchildren or interacting with their own children about parenting their grandchildren. The Amherst Family Center is a program of the UMass Office of Family Resources. This program is also supported by funds from the Highland Valley Elder service. Group facilitator Ann Marie Meltzer is a mother of three and a grandparent of seven.
